CULT Dining Table

The Cult dining table by Valdera is a stunning addition to any dining room. With an elegant, modern style, it showcases its unique marble in the best way possible. The spherical base detail adds a special point of difference compared to the type of bases we usually see, whilst making it an amazing piece of design.

We have been selling marble for many years and it is a product that never seems to go out of fashion. Each piece is an ancient artefact and a slice of history. Being a natural product, each individual slice is unique and will never be duplicated; this is what makes marble so special!

  • Marble Care

We take great care to design and source high quality furniture, there are a few things for you to consider to keep it looking its best.

    Here are our top tips:

    1. Be aware of the environment. Sunlight, heat sources, pets, humidity, etc. can all affect the performance and longevity of furniture. Selecting the right materials for the right setting will ensure yours is the right fit.
    2. Keep it clean. Light, regular cleaning will increase the lifespan of your furniture.
    3. Protect your floor and protect your furniture with floor protectors, coasters, stain protection etc. Heat and moisture are generally not furniture’s best friend so keep them separate where possible or ensure furniture is protected.
    4. Stay centred. Use the centre of the seat rather than the arms or back of sofas, for example, and don’t lean or rock on chairs and stools.

Our team will always be happy to answer any questions you may have about a particular item.

    DELIVERY & ASSEMBLY

When opening the packaging please take extreme care for personal and product safety. We recommend against the use of blades.

Having unpacked your furniture, check that it is complete and all parts are present. Please note, the feet for certain products may be found in the zip pocket underneath the suite. Ensure all fittings have been removed before disposing of packaging. Ensure children are supervised during unpacking and assembly of furniture and kept away from all hazards.

For ‘self-assembly’ furniture, read the assembly instructions before starting. Identify the parts of your furniture and follow the assembly sequence. Avoid use of force when assembling parts and be careful not to over tighten fittings during assembly. To avoid damage during assembly, use the appropriate tools and work on a surface covered by a protective layer.

    Installing your furniture

If assembling a product on its back or side, take care when turning the product over. Do not put excessive pressure on legs/base when turning as this may damage the structure of the product.

When positioning furniture items please do not drag them. Items should be lifted from the bottom where possible. In rooms with delicate floors, consider additional protection under your furniture e.g. felt pads or glides.

Shelves or drawer boxes should not be overloaded beyond capacity. If you need to move your furniture, you need to empty it first. This will make handling easier and reduce the risk of injury or damage.

Always use the handles provided to open and close drawers/doors. It is recommended that all self-assembled products should be periodically checked to ensure that all the fittings are secure.

Assembly and installation must be done in accordance with instructions. Failure to follow assembly instructions may result in poor performance of your product and/or void your warranty. If instructions are not followed, we decline any liability in the event of damage caused to people or property because of incorrect installation.

    MARBLE/STONE CARE & MAINTENANCE

Marble is a beautiful surface for tabletops, natural variations and veins in the stone are highlighted by polishing. Each table is an ancient artefact, approx. 400 million years old, and every piece a unique slice of history. Each piece will reflect the stresses and movements of the earth over the millennia and the minerals and chemicals contained therein. As the earth contorts, fissure lines and stress lines will occur. This is by no means to be considered a fault, but merely a hallmark of a natural product. Every table is unique and will never be repeated identically.

Most of our marble and other stone is sealed with a polyester lacquer that protects the porous surface from spills. It is an extremely hard, durable finish that is guaranteed stain resistant. Any spills should be wiped away with a damp cloth and dried.

Cleaning: To clean, use a duster or damp cloth and wipe dry. Never use all-purpose chemical or cleaning sprays. For hard stains, use diluted detergent and water sparingly, wipe away the detergent with a damp cloth then dry.

Heat & moisture: Polyester lacquer cannot withstand humidity or high heat.

Do not leave damp objects to sit on the marble for periods of time. Take care with vases etc. to ensure they are not damp underneath as prolonged moisture will cause clouding in the lacquer. Using a coaster is recommended.

Never place hot items directly onto a table or surface without using a heat resistant mat as this could leave a ring mark. Very hot items such as a saucepan or baking dish should not be placed on a tabletop unless you are confident there will not be heat transfer. Avoid placement of heated electrical equipment, cigarettes, candles etc. on furniture tops and surfaces.

Marble bases are not finished with the same thickness of lacquer that is applied to the tops. As such, it is common for fissure lines to be visible. These may look like cracks but are natural formations which occur in all marbles.

    • Satin Finish: Do not rub the table in one spot or use polish, as persistent rubbing will create a glossy patch.
    • Gloss Finish: Minor scratches can be eliminated by using a fine cutting compound and/or polishing with a quality automotive or similar fine polish. This can be done using an electric polisher or by hand.

Marble and other stone is particularly vulnerable in transit and must be handled like glass. Stand tops on their side in transit and when carrying. If tying to a vehicle, ensure the top is vertical, well secured and against a flat surface. Do not drop or shock. We recommend using a professional carrier service, who are experienced in transporting marble.

Valdera has been producing marble tables and accessories for more than 50 years

Valdera has long standing experience in working with marble, always using only premium quality marbles and stones selected from the best quarries. Valdera was established by Luciano and Silvano Lenzi in 1970 and has now expanded to include the input of the next generation and collaboration with Italian designers such as Giogio Soressi.

High quality marble, artisan workmanship and Italian design combine to realize unique products which never go out of fashion. Valdera's tables are realized entirely from design to packaging in Valdera's factory in the Tuscany hills between Pisa and Florence. The factory is only a few kilometres from two of the most important Italian quarries, Carrara and Siena. As each stone is different, being a natural product with colour and patterning variations each item is unique. The simplicity of form and design of these original pieces lets the inherent beauty of the marble take centre stage and honours the wisdom and skill of generations of Italian craftsmanship.
